My name is John Maloney and for the past 14 years, my wife and I have been raising our son and living on the North Shore of Long Island. We are both originally from the Northport area and moved east to Sound Beach when it was time to become homeowners. We bought and sold our first home with the help of agents, and when I guided through the purchase of our second home in Rocky Point, I started gravitating to Real Estate as a career. 

 

I enjoy taking a leadership role in the activities I participate in. I volunteer as an Assistant Scoutmaster for my son's Boy Scout Troop. When he was swimming competitively, I became certified as an Official Stroke and Turn Judge, to be on deck during the meets. If there is a position that needs to be filled, I am not afraid to step up. I recently became a Church Councilman after one of our previous members found themselves unable to complete their term. My duties include overseeing the entire Youth Ministry. 

 

After a rewarding fifteen-year career as a service technician, I knew that listening to people and helping them navigate through difficult situations had become a true calling. I wanted to continue my service to Suffolk County and the good people that I have grown to know and love. During my time as a tech, I visited over 22,000 homes and met many interesting people while simultaneously becoming familiar with home features. If it's in a home, chances are: I've seen it. 

 

Real Estate seemed such a natural fit, and I was soon very familiar with  many neighborhoods and house types/styles. 

 

There is a wonderful feeling that comes with getting the keys to the house of your dreams. I love helping people achieve that. I also know that selling your house at the best possible price brings financial benefits that can be life changing. It makes me extemely happy to be able to help someone make their dreams come true. Real Estate Transactions can be complicated--with many moving parts--but one of my talents is making the complex understandable. 

 

I am equipped with my Seniors Real Estate Specialist (R) designation. For me, it is just a privilege to serve them. They have my utmost respect and admiration and I love being around them and absorbing the wisdom that only comes with perspective.

 

When I am not working you are most likely to find me outside. I enjoy staying in shape and have been passionate about running for the past five years. I started by competing in my hometown 5k, and now I am testing my limits at ultra-endurance running. My current "furthest trail run" is 41 miles. My dog Rocky and I run around our neighborhood almost every dasy. I also love gardening and cooking all kinds of food but especially BBQ. My family and I enjoy a good day at the beach during the summer and a little skiiing in the winter.
